Receive a DEP Sewer Repair Order In Staten Island?

We’re here to help. We’ll explain what needs to be done and handle the required sewer line repair from start to finish.

What Is a NYC DEP Sewer Repair Order?

A NYC DEP Sewer Repair Order is issued when the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) finds that a property’s private sewer service line is damaged, defective, leaking, or otherwise needs repair.

If you received a Sewer Repair Order in Staten Island, the property owner is responsible for having the sewer service line repaired by a Licensed Master Plumber. For a standard, non-emergency order, NYC rules generally allow 30 days from the date of the order to complete the required repairs.

If the repair is not completed within the required timeframe, DEP can shut off the property's water service. Emergency conditions may require repairs immediately.
